Time Out (London)
2002
Cranes draw attention once again to the pale and interesting face of
alternative rock. The chill of Alison Shaw's breathy voice freezes any
threat of leaden self-consciousness and brings a crystal sense of direction
to the bands work, which saw them adopting decidedly modernist dance-based
rhythms on their last (current) LP 'Future Songs'. Ever enthralling.
