Reviews
i got to the hard rock cafe about 2100 (the tickets said 2300), but the line of people expecting to enter the place was quite long, and, to my concern, there were not disturbing punks but a lot of people with a face of `i'd never have gone and see any band in any other place`, i mean, there was a lot of people who, although dressed in black looked a lot like fans but didn't dare go to the past years shows.

the hard rock is in a very exclusive zone of the city (some people says its principal avenue is "more glamorous" than the sunset strip and other famous streets in USA, that i can't tell, for i've never to L.A. or any other place in US), and so were the people. inside, the place is alright, nothing exceptional but the prices, and that aws the sound, i could say. it was really crowded, and the people seemed like really lilke the band, like i'd never seen here....

they came out, the screen was lifted, and everybody shut up, while they started playing cloudless... i repeat, the sound was not excellent, and even there were some problems with equalization, but in gral terms it was fine. i have to admit that i was high on lsd, so my impressions were quite altered, and i guess i enjoyed the concert more than most people, but, when they played paris and rome, lillies, adrift, to be and starblood, the people went mad. even though, to my appreciation, some songs like paris and rome, adrift, brazil, dind't sound as good as i would like, particulary the keyboards, but then again, i was not precisely sober.

the three new songs were really good, the first with this sound wing-of-joy like, and with a really strange tempo, the second i can't remember, but i guess i liked it, and the third was simply marvellous, it is one their best songs ever, i could tell ..... the mood of the crowd was also very strange, i remember the gigs in the museo del chopo, and it was all sentiment and tranquility, but this time, and particulary with the songs i outlined before, it was like rock... mmmhhhh, a lot more like with bauhaus or sisters of mercy.....

they went out of scene twice, and people never stopped screaming to bring them back. they even kept on screaming when they went of the scenary once starblood was over, but, as i thought, that was the really last song. other songs they also played: jewel, everywhere, far away, one from "loved", i can't say at all if it was Rêverie, tangled up, one more from "pop4", the one that says: "something in your eyes tell me i could be happy....", and adoration (really really good)

form the band, i could recognize alison (obvious) and jim. the drummer, i couldn't say who was, and the instrumentist, i don't know his name, but he is the one that in the last tour only joined them to play lillies.

at the end of the show, the place subasted(?) an autographed shirt, and someone payed 80 dlls for it. almost an hour (it seemed to me) alison went out to the stage and signed autrograph for those (~50) who hadn't gone yet. i was in a philosophical trip, so i didn't get close for some weird reasons, and besides, i already has a promo poster signed by her from the last tour, but i was looking at the signing until alison left...

it was a really good night, and i guess that now i know why cranes are one of my all time favourite bands, the emotional charge i sensed all along the concert was huge, i would say "epic", and even i shed a couple of tears from time to time.... ah!, im sorry if i bother anyone, but alison is not a really good bass player, but im willing to give her free lessons whenever she wants....

3 of March. - , I never had listened Cranes live, it was the first time, and I was really impressive see Alison's strange personality and the group performance! Although the sound failed a little, they definitively are heard better live. Unfortunately I arrived half an hour late at the concert, because I traveled of Cancún to the DF that same afternoon and my airplane arrived late!!!!! grrrr.

Thanks to God a boy of the Hard Rock could install my sisters, friends and me in front of the scene exactly, which it was incredible! there i can inclusive "smell" the songs!!! unlike Francisco, I was in my five senses totally (I do not need drugs to really enjoy my self with the music of Cranes, I only need them!!!) and I can assure that people shouted of happiness in each song. Alison had much interaction with the public, smiling, saying "hello" with her hand, tried to speak in Spanish some phrases, etc, she is so sweet!!!... the lights and everything was perfect! There was no punks, fights nor nothing of the sort, that was because the people there really like Cranes. In the end I could obtain the Set- list of the concert (after some exhausting "fight" for it (you can see the paper suffered a little "accident" jajajaja) that was signed by Jim and Paul (on the other side) who were a good short while signing autographs and talking with fans. Alison was less time, there...In resume it was a great concert, they are better in live than in records!!!!!! Thanks Cranes because you don't forget mexican fans, who loves you!!!!!!!!!
